Ursula is born in 1911 and experiences both world war i (in which hugh and many of her neighbors fight) and world war ii.
Will eliot help her, or is he being driven by darker it has an interesting premise and admirable ambitions, but after.life fails to deliver enough twists or thrills to sustain its creepy atmosphere. I had read the follow up a god in ruins not knowing what to expect and was engrossed in that novel to the extent that there was a sharp intake of breath when i ultimately got to the end.
